March holiday: spring awakening in the Dolomites

The Dolomites region at Fiè allo Sciliar in spring is rich in colours and contrasts. Moody spring events in the Sciliar region

The snow is not completely thawed and in the small towns of the Sciliar area a lot of moody events take place. The first one is Oswald von Wolkenstein ride, the most important ride event in South Tyrol, which takes place every year in honour of the medieval minstrel Oswald von Wolkenstein, who once lived at Castelvecchio. During the celebrative parades of the religious festivity of Sacro Cuore and Corpus Cristi, you can admire the traditional costumes, which are the most beautiful all over South Tyrol.

Hiking and bike during your March holiday

During your spring holiday in South Tyrol the sun on the South Alp side has already got enough power in order to melt the last snow traces on the Siusi Alp.  The widest high plateau in Europe attracts with its wonderful hiking paths and mountain bike trails, which go along green meadows and rocky alpine regions. During your excursions in the nature you can enjoy breathtaking panorama view on the imposing peaks of Sciliar, Sasso Piatto and Sasso Lungo.
